Our commitment to responsible AI with real impact once again took centre stage on 3 December at CAIO Day, one of the leading events for executives in Spain.

This session brings together business and technology leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities of this new paradigm.

Below is how we experienced it and what we learned:

Understanding AI agents, a key step

Our participation included a talk by Fabiola Nasca Moreno, Director of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Agents at Banco Sabadell, who shared her vision on the role of AI agents.

During her presentation, she highlighted several key ideas, including:

  • The need to distinguish between a generative AI assistant and AI agents, in order to maintain a clear strategic focus on implementation and governance.
  • Autonomy as a defining characteristic of AI agents, enabling them to analyse a task, define a strategy and execute it without direct human intervention.

“Clearly understanding the difference between what is an AI agent and what is not is what makes the difference when it comes to moving forward with a well-focused strategy. In this way, we can develop autonomous solutions that deliver real business value, while ensuring control and security.”

Fabiola Nasca Moreno, Director of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Agents

Transparency and trust in AI agents

Another key highlight of the day was the importance of ensuring the traceability of the decisions made by AI agents, a crucial aspect for the responsible use of this technology.

For this reason, the need to have different mechanisms in place was discussed, including:

Comprehensive logging of agent interactions

This makes it possible to know what information the agent uses and which decisions it makes.

Tracking the agent’s reasoning

This helps to understand why it acts in a particular way in each context.

These processes are essential to ensure control, oversight and auditability, especially in environments with high regulatory requirements.

Continuing our commitment to responsible AI

Taking part in events such as CAIO Day allows us to share our vision, learn alongside other leaders and continue driving innovation based on control and trust.

That is why we are strengthening our commitment to responsible, secure AI aligned with business needs and with people.

Let’s keep going!
