Our commitment to technological evolution became tangible on 27 November with a new edition of Sabadell Morning, aimed at Technology teams.

On this occasion, we were joined by Confluent, a leading provider of data streaming solutions.

The session was designed to share vision, real-world use cases and key learnings on how event-driven architectures are driving more agile, connected and real-time platforms.

From batch to real time: a key transformation for the bank

For years, information was processed periodically, in batches and with a certain delay. Today, the real value lies in being able to access data and react in real time.

At the bank, this evolution is supported by technologies that enable systems to communicate with each other in a more agile and secure way, sharing information instantly.

This helps us improve efficiency, anticipate needs and make better-informed decisions, moving towards a more connected and customer-centric model.

Thanks to the Sabadell Morning session with Confluent, we were able to bring this vision to life in a clear and practical way, showing how the use of real-time data has become a key pillar of our technological modernisation.

An agenda designed to learn and share

Throughout the session, we addressed the pillars shaping the future of data streaming at the bank:

Sabadell’s vision

The role of data streaming in the bank’s modernisation.

Streaming fundamentals

Why Kafka and event-driven architectures enable real-time systems.

Confluent in action

Advanced capabilities such as managed Flink, governance, security, connectors and tableflow, enabling Kafka to scale with enterprise-grade guarantees.

Live demo

A real use case on the bank’s Data Streaming Platform (DSP).

“Our major challenge now is to increasingly integrate Data Analytics capabilities by consuming data in real time, in order to accelerate decision-making and generate more value from data.”

Alberto Cruz, Head of Data Architecture

Kafka and Confluent: a strategic lever for data in motion

Another key topic discussed was how we apply artificial intelligence to information streams, transforming interactions into useful insights almost instantly through transcription, classification and enrichment processes.

In addition, Confluent plays a key role in ensuring these technologies can be used securely, in an organised and reusable way, enabling different teams to work with real-time data under the same guarantees.

Continuing to drive technological transformation

At the bank, we firmly believe in our commitment to a solid, collaborative technological transformation focused on real impact.

Events like this reinforce our approach to innovation: sharing knowledge and learning together with strategic partners.

We keep moving forward!
