Digital transformation offers vast opportunities, but it also brings increasingly complex risks. In this context, cyber resilience emerges as an essential strategic element: it not only protects against attacks, but also ensures that organisations can adapt and continue operating even in the face of technological failures or cyber threats.
With this premise in mind, Artículo14 organised a roundtable in collaboration with Banco Sabadell, bringing together leading women in cybersecurity and digital resilience. The session featured:
- Marta Fernández, Director of Cybersecurity at NTT DATA.
- Esther Torres, Business Development Director at TRC.
- Victoria Climent, Head of IT Governance, Risk and Business Continuity at Banco Sabadell.
From a Defensive Approach to Strategic Resilience
During the discussion, it was explained that traditional cybersecurity, focused solely on preventing attacks, is no longer sufficient. Cyber resilience requires planning for the unexpected, anticipating potential incidents, and ensuring that companies can recover quickly, minimising the impact on customers and operations.
In this regard, Victoria Climent shared practical examples implemented at the bank, highlighting that technological and human preparedness must go hand in hand. The fundamental pillars to achieve this are:
- Continuous training: Preparing all stakeholders for contingency scenarios.
- External collaboration: Strengthening relationships with key suppliers.
- Shared commitment: Coordination between governments and businesses to ensure operational continuity during climate crises, technological disruptions or cyberattacks.

Diverse and Prepared Teams Facing Digital Challenges
Throughout the conversation, the importance of the human factor was emphasised. Diversity within technology and cybersecurity teams not only broadens perspectives when addressing complex challenges, but also strengthens innovation and decision-making.
In this context, promoting female leadership is key to building stronger, more adaptable organisations in an ever-changing digital landscape. As Victoria notes, resilience is not just a technical matter, but also one of leadership and culture: an inclusive leadership style that fosters collaboration, prioritises effectively, and turns collective effort into a real strength for Banco Sabadell.
